Found in northeastern Peru on dead tree in clearing at elevations around 100 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with an erect stem enveloped entirely by about 11, tubular, imbricating sheaths largest in the middle and mostly leaf bearing carrying loosely distichous, narrow, widely spreading, lightly decurved, conduplicate, rigid, oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, abruptly bilobulate apically leaves that blooms on an erect, peduncle to 10.8" [27 cm] long, enveloped by about 15, close, tubular, longer and imbricating below, more distant above, scarious bracts, rachis nodding, loosely paniculate, 3 to 4 shortly branched, each few flowered, several flowered inflorescence with clasping, broadly ovate, concave, acute floral bracts and carrying small, flesh colored and dark violet flowers
