Found in western Ecuador in wet tropical montane forests at elevations of 70 to 800 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte on trunks and large branches of trees with a fan of, distichous, deciduous leaves that blooms in the summer on a densely pubescent, axillary, 3" + [7.5 cm +] long, several to many flowered inflorescence.
