Common Name Weberbauer's Otoglossum [German Botanist in Peru early 1900's]

Flower Size 2 1/2" [6.75 cm]

Found in northern Peru at elevations of 2000 to 2300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a stout rhizome with 8" [20 cm] between each, linear to cylindrical, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by many imbricate, scarious, leafless below and leaf-bearing above sheaths and carrying, a single, apical, oblong to oblanceolate-oblong, obtuse, conduplicate below to form an elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a racemose, few flowered inflorescence enveloped below by widely separated, small sheaths
