Found in Loja province of Ecuador at elevations of 2400 to 2500 meters as a small to just medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a monopodial, basally branching stem enveloped by imbricating leaf sheaths carrying fleshy, spreading, ovate, entire, mucronate-apiculate, gradually narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on axillary, '6" [1.5 cm] long, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with awl-shaped floral bracts and carrying small, fleshy, campanulate, yellow green flowers.
