Common Name Curtis' Paphiopedilum [English Orchid Grower]
Flower Size 4 1/2" [11.2 cm]
Found in Sumatra as a medium to large sized, hot growing terrestrial with 4 to 5, elliptic to oblong-elliptic, tessellated dark and light green above leaves that are flushed purple anderneath towards the leaf base that blooms on a 10" [25 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with elliptic-lancecolate floral bracts occuring in the spring and summer. Often cited as a synonym of Paphiopedilum superbiens and most likely is but I have left them separate at this time.
