Common Name Wentworth's Paphiopedilum [English Orchid Enthusiast 1800's]

A medium sized, warm to cool growing humus epiphyte found in New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Guadacanal and Bougainville at elevations of 900 to 1800 meters with 5, narrowly oblong to elliptic-oblong, tessellated dark and light green, shortly pubescent leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, to 14" [35 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with an elliptic-ovate floral bract.
