Found in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial with cyllindric-oblong tubers giving rise to a robust, leafy stem carrying oblong-lanceolate, acuminate to acute, wavy, strongly veined beneath, subampleicaul below into the base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, 4 to 8" [10 to 20 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
