Found in eastern Nepal and northwestern Yunnan province of China in bamboo forests at elevations around 3200 meters sa a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender, erect stem carrying bract-like leaflets and 2 leaves in the lower half and 2 to 3, oval leaves above that blooms in the later summer on an erect, .6 to 1.4" [ 1.5 to 3.5 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
