Common Name or Meaning Misas' Platystele [Colombia Discoverer of Species Current]

Found in Antioquia department of Colombia at elevations around 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 thin, immbricating tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, subacute, narrowly cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, subdense, distichous, to 3.2" [to 8 cm] long including the 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously several to many flowered, racemose inflorescence with tubular floral bracts.
