Common Name The Many Glanded Platylepis

Flower Size .6 to .68" [1.6 to 1.7 cm] long including the pedicel

Found in The Comoros Islands and Madagascar in humus within forests at elevations of sealevel to 1200 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid with a spreading, fleshy rhizome giving rise to an erect stem carrying many, elliptical to oblong-lanceolate, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later spring, summer and earlier fallon an erect, terminal, peduncle short, provided with large villous glandular apically sheaths, rachis 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long, oblong, densely many flowered inflorescence with widely oval-acute, hirsute glandular, slightly shorter than the flower floral bracts
