Found in Samoa at elevations around 300 to 750 meters as a small to medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with an erect leafy stem enveloped by leaf bearing sheaths carrying lanceolate to obliquely-ovate, acuminate, narrowing below into the slender petiolate base leaves that blooms on a terminal, shortly pubescent, 5.2 to 10" [13 to 25 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, hairy floral bracts and carrying white, pubescent flowers.
