Common Name The Bottle-Shaped Pleione

Found in Yunnan China, Assam and Thailand at elevations of 1300 to 2500 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial that is a natural hybrid between P maculata and P praecox with bottle shaped, green mottled blackish brown pseudobulbs carrying narrowly oblanceolate,acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on 1 to 2, sheathed, 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying a fragrant flower.
