Found in Bhutan to southern China on cliffs along streams as a lithophyte at elevations off 2300 to 2900 as a small sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte with turbinate to ovoid pseudobulbs with a persisitent, short, apical annulus carrying 1 to 2, suboblong, lanceolate or oblanceolate, acute to obtuse, elongate petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a single flowered inflorescence with warty basal bracts and an oblanceolate, acute floral bract and carrying a flower that does not open well
