Common Name or Meaning The Two Keeled Pleurothallis
Flower Size
Found in southeastern Brazil as a small sized, repent epiphyte with erect, ascendent, strict to slightly arcuate, robust, pale green ramicauls carrying a single, erect, rigid, intense green, concave below into the subconduplicate base leaf that blooms on an erect, strict to slightly arcuate, arising through a acute-carinate, many nerved, brown spathe, pale green, 2.8 to 4.4" [7 to 11 cm] long, distichous, laxly 6 to 8 flowered inflorescence.
CAUTION!!!! I have no way of verifying this determination and the only reference with a drawing, has 2 different drawings of 2 different species in 2 different alliances. The !246 drawing above by Pabst puts it in the P strupifolia alliance. The 1312 drawing by Pabst puts in the P saurocephala alliance. Both Alliances have pendent inflorescence with simultaneous, fairly close set flowers. Both are in Section Brachystachyae. So I can't make an informed descision here as the only reference available leaves the issue up in the air.
