Found in Cuzco Peru at elevations around 2400 meters as a ministure sized, cold growing lithophyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, subacute to obtuse, indistinctly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer and early fall on a loose, secund, 1.2 to 2" [3 to 5 cm] long including the .4" [1 cm] long peduncle, simultaneously several flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with an annulus near the base of the leaf.
