Common Name The Knuckled Pleurothallis [refers to the lip]

Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 20 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-obovate, subacute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter through summer on a congested fascile of slender, suberect, 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with imbricating, thin, tubular floral bracts.

Close relatives include P acoana, P berolinensis, P icterina and P vierlingii.
