Common Name The Costa Rican Pleurothallis

Found in Cartago province of Costa Rica and Panama at elevations around 650 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized hot to warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with filiform, flexuous, glabrous ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 pale brown sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly ligulate, minutely apiculate, gradually narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on an erect, more or less arching, peduncle compressed, 1.2 to 2.4" [3 to 6 cm] long, 5.6" [14 cm] log overall, distichous, racemose, simultaneously 6 to 12 flowered inflorescence with oblique, acute as long as to slightly longer than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Most easily recognized by the small, caespitose habit and a raceme of simultaneous flowers borne buy a compressed peduncle. The flowers are much like those of the P grobyi-picta complex. Luer 2006
