EARLY

Common Name The Second Johnson's Pleurothallis [Brazilian Orchid Enthusiast and Species Collector current]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Argentina at elevations around 750 meters as a very mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2 tubular sheaths and carrying a single, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, cuneate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul, peduncle to .8 to .12" [2 to 3 cm] long, to .16" [4 mm] long altogether, successively single, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

"This tiny species from Argentina with ramicauls .08" [two mm] long is related to the widely distributed P brevipes. The sepals and the narrowly triangular petals are ciliate, and the ciliate margins of the lip occupy two thirds the length. A narrow, channeled, longitudinal callus below the middle of the disc is minutely bilobulate at the base. The base of the lip is truncate with a lobule at the corner." Luer & Toscano 2011
