Common Name The Fuego Volcano Pleurothallis [Guatemalan Volcano]

Found in Veracruz, Guerero and Chiapas states of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Panama on mossy trees in wet cloud forests at elevations of 1000 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2, thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly obovate, subacute to obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the ill defined petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and fall on an erect, lateral, more or less arching, loose, secund to distichous, to 2.8" [7 cm] overall, rachis to 1.2 to 1.6" [3 to 4 cm] long, successively several flowered inflorescence with oblique, acute floral bracts.
