Found in Colombia and Tachira Venezuela at elevations around 2500 to 2600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with an erect ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall and early winter on an erect, 2" [5 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with acuminate floral bracts
