Common Name or Meaning Luis Diego's Pleurothallis [Costa Rican Botanist and Co-collector of species curent]

Found in Limon province of Costa Rica at elevations around 300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing, subcaespitose epiphyte with slender, erect to suberect ramicauls enveloped 2 thin tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical obovate, subacute to obtuse, red brown dotted, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later spring on a arising laterally from the ramicaul, fascile of congested, .78 to 1" [1.8 to 2.5 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence with very close, sometimes imbricating, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
"Characterized by the minute, shortly repent habit that superficially appears caepitose. The capillary peduncles bear a congested, successively flowered raceme, like a tiny brush, far above the minutelky purple specled leaves. The flower is comparitively large, larger than the leaves, The dorsal sepal is ovate, the synsepal is minutely notched at the tip, the petals are spathulate and the lip is elliptical with a minutely denticulate, rounded apex. A minute pair of rounded callii are present at the base of the column foot." Luer 2006
