Pleurothallis monocardia Rchb. f. 1855 SUBGENUS Pleurothallis SECTION Macrophyllae-Fasciculatae Lindl 1859

Common Name The Single Heart-Leaf Pleurothallis

Flower Size 1/4" [.75 cm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia and Ecuador as a miniature sized, cold to cool growing epiphyte at an elevations of 1400 to 2600 meters with slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths carrying a single, apcial, cordate, longitudinally incurved basally and acute, apically leaf that blooms on a short, single flowered inflorescence.

Not so sure about this determination, I am awaiting better references. This species is now considered a synonym of P cordata subsp cordata.
