Found in Tungurahua Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 3050 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with fasciculate, slender, erect enveloped by a tubualr sheath about the middle and 2 to 3 imbricating sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 2 to 3, subsecund, subdense, 2.4 to 4.4" [6 to 11 cm] long, simultaneously several flowered inflorescence arising througha slender spathe with an infundibular floral bract
