Found in Choco' and Valle de Cauca departments of Colombia in montane forests at elevations around 1800 to 1900 meters as mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect to suberect ramicauls enveloped a close, tubular sheath below the middle and another at the base and carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, ovate, acute, acuminate, long-mucronate, cuneate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the summer on an suberect, .8 to .92" [2 to 2.3 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising througha spathe at the base of the leaf.
