Found in Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo Brazil in primary cloud forests at elevations of 500 to 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 3 sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly lanceoalte, light green leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on an erect, 1" [2.5 cm] long, zigzag, successively 1 to 2, 4 to 5 flowered inflorescence
