Full shadeCool Spring

Common Name or Meaning The Windy Pleurothallis [refers to the wiry inflorescence and the fact that the flower is bobbing in the slightest breeze]

Flower Size .2" [5 mm]

Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in shady, wet tropical montane forests at elevations around 1600 to 1650 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by a tubular sheath and carrying an erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly oblong, obtuse, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a fascile of successive, single flowered inflorescence with the flowers held at the leaf base.

A form [especially the petals and lip] and color variable orchid found throughout the Andes.
