Found in the Province of Guanacaste in Costa Rica at elevations of 500 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with stout, erect to suberect ramcauls enveloped by 2 loose tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, fusiform, acute, more or less conduplicate below into the sessile base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on a loose, slightly flexuous, to 4" [10 cm] long, successively several flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the base of the leaf
