Common Name or Meaning Steyermark's Pleurothallis [American Orchid Collector in Venezuela 1900's]

Found in northwestern Venezuela at elevations around 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls with a tubular sheath near the middle and 2 to 3 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, acute, acuminate, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on 1 to 2, pendent, 4.4" [11 cm] long, including the 1.2" [3 cm] long peduncle, loosely several flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at trhe apex of the ramicaul.
