Found on the Massif de Hotte range in southwestern Haiti at elevations around 850 to 1150 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a slender, erect ramicaul enveloped by 2, loose, tubular sheaths and carrying overlapping, coriaceous, subcircular, obtuse to rounded, minutely ciliate denticulate margins, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on an erect, slender, .04" [1 mm] long peduncle, single to occasionally followed by a second, flowered inflorescence arising from a node near the base of the ramicaul with a tublar, much shorter than the pedicel floral bract.
"Very similar to P mornincola but differs in the little tufts of overlapping. subcircular, minutely denticulate leaves. The single orange flower, or sometimes 2, is produces by a very short pedunlce and a short pedicel. The dorsal sepal and synsepal are similar, the petals are obovate and acute and the lip is oblong, minutely ciliate and shallowly channeled centrally. Luer 2006
