Common Name The Talpinaria Pleurothallis [refers to the genus that this species was originally described]

Found in Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Ecuador as a miniature sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte at elevations of 450 to 3000 meters with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 tubular sheaths and one below the middle carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute to obtuse petiolate leaf that is cuneate below into the petiole and blooms on a short, apical, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from an ascending spathe holding the flower at mid-leaf occuring from spring through fall.
