Found in western Cuba, in partially shaded places in humid mogote vegetation and mesophyllous evegreen rainforests from 400 to 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with a very short ramicaul, enveloped completely by 3, scarious, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, oblanceolate, to subspathulate, acute to shortly apiculate, glabrous, attenuate below intot he base leaf that blooms on a terminal, to 1.6" [4 cm] long, successively few flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe with an annulus
