Found in New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania, Australia at elevations of 1100 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial occuring in sub-alpine and alpine herbfields in well drained moist soils at elevations of 1200 to 2000 meters with a globose tuber giving rise to an erect, stem carrying a single, narrowly linear, acute, basally clasping leaf that flowers on an erect, to 14" [to 45 cm] long, several to many [8 to 15] flowered racmose inflorescence with unscented flowers occuring in the summer.
