Found in Tasmania in coastal scrub and damp heath at elevations of 10 to 50 meters as a small to just large sized, cold growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, 7.2 to 24.8" [18 to 62 cm] long, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, scented flowers
