Found in Tasmania in heathy forests, heathlands and sedgelands at elevations of sea level to 50 meters as a medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender stem carrying a single, slender, terete, erect stem clasping leaf that blooms in the later spring on an erect, 8.4 to 15.8" [21 to 39 cm] long overall, rachis 4 to 5.6" [10 to 14 cm] long, 10 to 20 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, scented flowers
