Found in southeastern New South Wales and Victoria Australia on sunny ridges in clay soil at elevations around 850 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a robust stem carrying a single, terete, basally shethed leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, crowded, very compact, 6 to 10" [15 to 25 cm] long, overall, rachis 2.8 to 3.2" [7 to 8 cm] long, 50 to 80 flowered inflorescence.
Said to be possibly extinct.
