Found in southwest Western Australia in winter wet swamps and in well drained tall forests at elevations of 10 to 250 meters as a giant sized, cool growing terrestrial with a single, stem clasping leaf that blooms in the later winter and earlier spring on an erect, 15.6 to 23.2" [39 to 58 cm] long, 10 to 35 flowered inflorescence and carrying non-resupinate, slightly fragrant flowers
