Common Name The Montane Prescottia
Flower Size .25" [.625 cm]
Found in Rio de Janiero, Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo states of Brazil and Jujuy department of Argentina at elevations around 2200 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a short stem enveloped by 1 to 2 leafless, basal sheaths carrying above, a single apical, intense green, fleshy-rigid, oblong, acute, narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on a terminal, erect, peduncle 16 to 28" [40 to 70 cm] long, carrying 3, tubular, acute bracts, rachis 1.6 to 4.4" [4 to 11 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, pale, slightly concave, 2 to 3 times longer than the ovary floral bracts
