Found in New Guinea in lowland and lower montane forests at elevations around 1200 to 2450 meters as a miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with a terete, glabrous stem carrying 4 to 6, patent, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute to shortly acuminate, dilated at the base into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, short, 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts that are usually longer than the ovaries.
