Found in the Dominican Republic and Jamaica at elevations of 1500 to 1700 meters as a medium to just large sized, cool growing terrestrial with elliptic to lanceolate, acute to short acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect, glabrous, 2' [60 cm] long, rachis 8" [20 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate flowers.
