Common Name Reichenbach's Pleurothallopsis [German Taxomonist 1800's]

Found in Nicaragua and Costa Rica at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3, loose, tubular, hirsute, ribbed sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical-obovate, obtuse to rounded, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a fascile of 2 to 3.2" [5 to 8 cm] long, successively single flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the ramuicaul with a bract below the middle.

"The ramicauls, enclosed by the pubescent sheaths, are shorter than the leaves, the peduncles are much longer than the leaves, the lateral sepals are connate into a synsepal and the four pollina are discoid without caudicles." Luer 1991
