Found in Norte de Santander, Colombia and Ecuador as a miniature to small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte in cool scrub cloud forests at elevations of 2400 to 2750 meters with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 4 to 5 imbricating, ribbed, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly linear-elliptical, acute leaf that gradually narrows into the base and blooms on a succession of single flowers arising in a fascile near the apex of the ramicaul.
