Common Name The Lovely Rodriguezia

Flower Size about 1 1/2" [3.7 cm]

A small sized, hot to warm growing epiphytic orchid that is found at elevations of 500 too 1800 meters in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil. It has narrowly ovoid to ovoid-oblong pseudobulbs subtended by several leaf-like sheaths and carrying a single, apical, linear-lanceolate, acute, coriaceous, dark green leaf and blooms with very fragrant flowers that occur on an axillary, pendant, to 7" 17.5 cm] long, racemose, few flowered inflorescence occuring in the spring.

Similar to R bracteata but differs in the yellow callus of the lip among other features. See also Rodriguizea sp Brazil above
