Found in Papua and New Guinea in lower montane mist forests at elevations of 1000 to 2300 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with 3/4" to 1 1/4" [2 to 3 cm] betweeen each oblong, compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate-elliptic, subacute, glabrous leaf and blooms in the winter and summer on a basal, short, fascicled, opening in succession, peduncle glabrous, as long as the pseudobulb, provided with a few small peduncle-scales, single flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and carrying a small, much shorter than the ovary floral bract and a single flower at a time.
