Found in southeastern Brazil and Argentina as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem partially enveloped by lanceolate, acute bracts and carrying 5 to 6, basal, broad, oblong-ligulate, acute, long attenuate intothe base leaves that blooms in the winter on a terminal, erect, 4" [10 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence.
