Common Name The Modest Scaphyglottis

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Cuba, Dominican Republic, Leeward Islands Puerto Rico, Windward Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, French Guinea, Guyana, Bolivia and Brazil at elevations of 100 to 1000 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte or lithophyte with a short rhizome giving rise to cane-like, cylindric to fusiform, many branched stems enveloped basally by a few imbricating sheaths and carrying 2 apical, linear, obtuse leaves with stems arising from them and blooming in the Winter and spring on a terminal, short, clustered, fasciculate inflorescence.
