Found from Mexico south to El Salvador and Honduras at elevations of 900 to 1500 meters [Oaxaca Mx, 1524m elev, on road to Putla, scattered oak woods, epiphytic on legume] with elongate-fusiform, subterete, 7 to 8 noded, slightly compressed pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2, apical, pendulous, distichous, linear, acuimnate, bilobed apically, carinate apiculate beneath leaves that blooms in the winter on 1 to 2, terminal or at the nodes on stem, 1 to 3.2" [2.5 to 8 cm] long, filiform, terete, racemose, 1 to 10, simultaneous flowered inflorescence with triangular, acuminate, apicaulate, carinate, conduplicate, papery floral bracts..
