Common Name Tuerckheim's Schelochilus [German Orchid Collector 20th Century]

Flower Size 2/5" [1 cm]

Found in Mexico Guatemala, Honduras, Nocaragua and Costa Rica on tree trunks at elevations of 1600 to 2700 meteres as a miniature sized, cold to warm pendant growing epiphyte with small to miniscule, cylindrical pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several, large, distichous, imbricating, leafless sheaths carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, conduplicate basally and apically but flat in the middle leaf that blooms on a lateral, 4" [20 cm] long, racemose, several [5 to 6] flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb through the axil of the basal sheath occuring in the spring through winter.
