Common Name The Garay's Schiedeella [American Botanist and Orchidologist Dies 2016]

Flower Size .3” [7.5 mm] long

Found in Jalisco and Michoacan states of Mexico pine forests at elevations around 2300 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with fasciculate-tuberous roots giving rise to a rosette of leaves not present at blooming that blooms in the later winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, brown, pubescent, scapose, peduncle to 10” [25 cm] long, racemose, rachis to 3” [7.5 cm] long, more or less spirally arranged, laxly10 to 14 flowered inflorescence with small, inconspicuous, brownish green floral bracts and carrying diurnally fragrant, brown red flowers witha white lip.
