Found only in southwestern and southern Cape Province of South Africa in montane in sandstone and rocky areas at elevations of 900 to 1200 meters as a mini-miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid with cauline, basally clasping leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, terminal, 3.2 to 14" [8 to 35 cm] long, 1 to 7 flowered inflorescence
