Found in Panama at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a small to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with slightly compressed stems enveloped by striate, shortly bristled sheaths and carrying several elliptic, short acuminate, strongly plicate leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, short, successively single flowered inflorescnece arising from an ellipsoid bract cluster.
